General Information

The theory group comprises Dr Peter Jarvis together with Professor Robert Delbourgo (emeritus), Dr Jim Bashford (Australian Postdoctoral Fellow), and currently 3 full-time postgraduate students, usually with one or two honours students. In addition, because of our external research grants and overseas collaborations we often have visitors in the group.
 

CONFERENCE
From Nov 30 to Dec 2, 2005 we are hosting "Quantum Field Theory and its Ramifications", a conference commemorating  Robert Delbourgo's 65th birthday. This page is still under construction.

The theory group carries out research work in a diverse range of fields. Current  topics of interest include:

• Quantum Field Theory and Nonperturbative methods (RD)
• Spacetime and quantisation supersymmetry (PDJ)
• Hopf algebras and representation theory (PDJ)
• Stochastic, phylogenetic-branching models (PDJ & JS)
• Thermodynamics of nucleic acid helix formation (JDB)
• Mesoscale modelling of DNA dynamics (e.g. charge transport & linear diffusion of RNA polymerase) (JDB)
